This publication is part of a series of teaching-learning modules developed by UNESCO and P&G Whisper India with the goal of integrating period and puberty education in school curricula. The series is structured into five modules that address key intervention areas related to MHHM, including: 1. building a curriculum that understands the biological and social impacts of puberty; 2. guiding teachers on the menstrual hygiene education curriculum; 3. providing teaching-learning materials geared towards addressing the specific needs of girls with disabilities; 4. highlighting the impact of gender inequalities on menstrual health and hygiene for both girls and boys; and 5. addressing nutritional approaches related to menstrual health and hygiene. This teaching-learning module was developed for teachers working in various contexts and with diverse needs and aims to support them in initiating conversations around MHHM and including the subject in school curricula for students across the gender spectrum. The purpose of this module is to provide facilitators with multiple and comprehensive strategies that lead to positive changes in attitudes, behaviours and practices around menstruation. Each chapter contains explanations of the subject at hand, stories, case studies, learning activities, illustrations and tables designed to provide a better understanding of the issues surrounding MHHM. A glossary is also included to ensure that you, the reader, become familiar with different terms related to menstruation.

Ce guide de simulation de négociation climatique, destiné aux enseignants du secondaire, s'appuie sur le référentiel national de compétences climatiques français. Il propose des activités pédagogiques pour comprendre les enjeux climatiques, simuler une COP et agir pour le climat. Adaptable aux différents contextes, il inclut des ressources multimédia et utilise des pédagogies actives comme les jeux de rôle et les débats. Les séances sont conçues pour être flexibles, permettant aux enseignants de choisir celles qui répondent le mieux à leurs besoins tout en maintenant un équilibre entre compréhension et action.

Ce manuel de l’Office for Climate Education (OCE) aide les enseignants à aborder le changement climatique, les océans et la cryosphère avec des élèves de 9 à 15 ans. Il propose des éclairages scientifiques, des plans de cours, des activités et des ressources multimédia. Interdisciplinaire, il inclut des leçons en SVT, sciences sociales, arts visuels et éducation physique, et utilise des méthodes pédagogiques actives comme l’investigation, le jeu de rôles et le débat. Divisé en deux parties, "Comprendre" et "Agir", il permet aux élèves de comprendre les impacts du changement climatique et de participer à des projets concrets pour atténuer ses effets.

This short guide provides teachers with action-based approaches to address waste and trash management for sustainable development. It contains infographics and factsheets, inspiring initiatives taken by youth all around the world and activities that can be implemented in class or outside, over one day or several class sessions.  

The purpose of this teacher guide is to inspire teachers who want to work with climate change and sustainable development with their students. In this guide, you will find examples of teaching activities and teacher reflections on these activities. The activities described should be seen as inspiration. They could be adjusted according to a specific teaching context as preferred, thus aligned with the same objectives and perceived outcomes. The EU-project in which the activities were developed, was carried out with upper secondary students (aged 16-19). With smaller changes by the teachers, younger students can also work with the suggested activities. Beyond the goal of learning about climate change and sustainable development, the activities enable students to practice their critical thinking, and develop their communication and presentation skills. 

This is UNESCO's first resource with a regional focus on teaching to prevent atrocity crimes. It was developed with the United Nations and in partnership with the UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA). The guide was informed by exchanges with African stakeholders and advisors and tested through a piloting exercise with African teachers and students. It provides principles for teachers to consider in facilitating learning and constructive discussions with their students.

It offers an analysis of conflict, examines the role of ethics, expands on the elements of transformative pedagogy. It also provides practical tools to support learners’ active participation in shaping the world around them and assess learners’ understanding of peacebuilding concepts and skills, all while engaging the community.

Ce guide est conçu pour renforcer les capacités des enseignants du secondaire et des formateurs d’enseignants à intégrer une approche de renforcement de la paix et de la résilience dans l’éducation pour la prévention de l’extrémisme violent. Il s'appuye sur le guide «Pédagogie transformationnelle pour la construction de la paix» et il a été élaboré dans le contexte du Sahel et des pays voisins.

Le guide redéfinit le rôle des enseignants en les invitant à opérer un changement de paradigme consistant à adopter une pédagogie transformationnelle permettant aux apprenants de participer activement à leur propre apprentissage. La pédagogie transformationnelle que propose le guide se refère à la pédagogie active et à l’approche par les compétences (APC). Pour ce faire, le guide propose des activités visant un apprentissage par la pratique.

This guide is designed to build the capacity of teachers so that they are informed and empowered in why and how to educate for peace-building. It offers an analysis of conflict, examines the role of ethics, expands on the elements of transformative pedagogy and provides practical tools to assess learners’ understanding of peacebuilding concepts and skills. It concludes with 20 engaging activities to support experiential learning.

The guide was developed as part of the "Teacher Training and Development for Peace-building in the Horn of Africa and Surrounding Countries project", which has as a long-term goal to develop a critical mass of teachers able to implement effective teaching and learning essential for preparing peace-loving and productive youth in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda.

This is UNESCO’s first teacher’s guide on the prevention of violent extremism through education. It was developed in order to ensure its relevance in different geographical and socio-cultural contexts. Therefore, it can be used as it is or further contextualized, adapted and translated in order to respond to the specific needs of learners. 

The guide seeks to:
- provides practical advice on when and how to discuss the issue of
violent extremism and radicalization with learners;
- help teachers create a classroom climate that is inclusive and conducive
to respectful dialogue, open discussion and critical thinking.

This guide provides teachers with the necessary tools to highlight historical and current themes from the animated film "Where is Anne Frank".

It includes a preparatory lesson, a lesson to discuss the film and four detailed thematic follow-up lessons. The film and the lessons are accompanied by extensive background information and ready-to-use worksheets with information, questions and assignments.
