Our mission

Teachers are at the heart of quality education. They are the most important school-based factor influencing learning and student well-being, yet many education systems continue to face teacher shortages, challenges in teacher preparation and retention, and insufficient support for the profession.

The International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (Teacher Task Force) is a global alliance of governments, international organizations, civil society organizations, teacher organizations, foundations and development partners working together to strengthen the teaching profession and advance quality education for all.

Vision

Teaching is a valued profession, and every learner is taught by qualified, motivated and empowered teachers working in well-resourced, inclusive and effectively governed education systems.

Mission

The Teacher Task Force engages governments and partners to strengthen teacher policies and support the transformation of the teaching profession, acting as a catalyst for global, regional and national action to advance the right to quality education.

As the global network dedicated to teachers and teaching, we bring together diverse stakeholders to generate evidence, shape policy dialogue, foster collaboration and promote investment in teachers. We believe that strong teacher policies and empowered teachers are essential to achieving inclusive, equitable and quality education for every learner.

How We Work

Knowledge Production and Future Thinking

We generate and share evidence on teachers and teaching to support informed decision-making and policy development. Through research, knowledge-sharing and strategic foresight, we help education stakeholders respond to current challenges while preparing for the future of the profession.

Advocacy and Partnerships

We champion teachers as a priority within education agendas at global, regional and national levels. Working through partnerships and collective action, we amplify evidence-based messages, promote international commitments and mobilize support for the teaching profession.

Policy Learning and Policy Change

We facilitate peer learning, dialogue and knowledge exchange among our members and partners. By connecting evidence, practice and policy, we support stakeholders in translating knowledge into action and strengthening teacher policies in their own contexts.

Together, these efforts help ensure that teachers remain at the centre of education transformation and that every learner has access to quality teaching.
