Teacher Education Framework in Angola’s Basic Law of the Education and Teaching System (Law No. 32/20)

Angola’s Law No. 32/20, which amends the Basic Law of the Education System, establishes the country’s updated strategic framework for the development of the education system. It includes provisions relevant to teacher policy, specifically aimed at elevating the central role of educators, transition initial teacher education into Pedagogical Higher Education, and establish pedagogical aggregation as a formal qualification pathway for licensing teaching practice. These teacher-related policy measures are set out in Section 5 (Articles 43–53, pages 4437–4439), which focuses on the objectives and structure of the teacher training subsystem.
